  1. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh presented the best tableau awards in Republic Day Parade 2020 in New Delhi. The tableau of Assam got first place, depicting the unique craftsmanship and culture of the state. Odisha and Uttar Pradesh were ranked second. The Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraj was displayed in the tableau of Odisha, while the tableau of Uttar Pradesh depicts the cultural and religious heritage of the state. Tableaux of National Disaster Response Force and Jal Shakti Mission were considered the best among the tableaux of Ministries and Departments. The Central Public Works Department was awarded a special award for its tableau from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Air Force won the first prize for marching in all three services. The CISF won the first prize in the paramilitary forces.
  2. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution to abolish the State Legislative Council. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced the proposal in the Assembly. Legislative Speaker Tammineeni Sitaram announced that the proposal was accepted with the support of 133 members.
  3. Sunil Mehta has taken over as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Indian Banks’ Association-IBA. He has been appointed in place of VG Kannan, who resigned as the Chief Executive of the IBA on December 31, 2019. Their tenure will be 3 years. Currently, the Managing Committee of the IBA is headed by SBI Chief Rajneesh Kumar, who is heading the committee for the year 2019-20 with 3 deputy chairman and honorary secretary.
  4. Superstar Rajinikanth will be seen in Bayer Grylls’ show Man vs Wild. The show, telecasted on Discovery Channel, started shooting by Rajinikanth and Grylls in Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Karnataka. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen in Grylls’ program. The ‘Man vs Wild’ episode filmed on Narendra Modi was shot in Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park.
  5. The government has set a target of generating 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022 to develop a low carbon emission economy in the world. The Ministry of Finance has stated that farmers are being empowered as energy producers through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Energy Security and Utthan Maha-Abhiyan Yojana. This scheme is also known as ‘PM Kusum’. With the help of the “Kusum scheme”, farmers can put solar panels on their land and use the electricity generated from it for agriculture.
  6. The World Health Organization has raised the global threat level of life-threatening coronavirus infection in Wuhan to moderate to high. According to the report of the organization, the number of people suffering from the Coronavirus had increased to 2,014 last Sunday, of which 1,985 are from China.
  7. Pankaj Advani has once again won the Senior National Billiards Championship. In the finals played in Pune, Pankaj defeated Sourav Kothari by five-two. Thus Pankaj Advani won his 33rd national title. This is Advani’s tenth title in the senior category.
  8. “Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers” (GRSE), a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Defense, is set to hand over the anti-submarine warship INS Kavaratti (INS Kavaratti) to the Indian Navy soon under the grip of radar. INS Kavaratti is the 104th warship built by GRSE. All its tests have been completed and will be handed over to the Navy by the end of this month. INS Kavaratti can be used during nuclear, chemical and biological warfare and its weapon and sensor suits are designed entirely within the country.
  9. Selected as “Samvidhaan” (Constitution) “Oxford Hindi Word of the Year” (HWOTY) for 2019. The name gained widespread attention in August 2019 with the abolition of Article 370 and Article 35 (a) of the Indian Constitution on 05 August 2019. The Articles removed the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir.
  10. The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has submitted a proposal to declare Ladakh as a 6th Schedule area. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda recently announced that a proposal has been sent to the Union Home Ministry to include Ladakh in the 6th Schedule area. Self-governance is emphasized in the areas included in the 6th Schedule and considerable autonomy is also given to tribal communities. Tribal communities can make their laws. These areas also get a lot of funds from the central government for social and infrastructure development. Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram are included in the 6th schedule.
  11. “Taranjit Singh Sandhu” has been appointed India’s new ambassador to the US. Currently serving as India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, he will soon take over as the Indian Ambassador to the US. He will replace “Harshvardhan Shringla” in America. The current foreign ambassador to the US “Harshvardhan Shringla” will be the next foreign secretary.
  12. Former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee released “Reliance”, the autobiography of former Finance Minister Mr. Yashwant Sinha, at the India International Center in New Delhi. The book describes Sinha’s journey from a normal life to a highly politically driven life. The book is published by “Bloomsbury Publishing India Private Limited”.
  13. Renowned theater artist Sanjana Kapoor will be honored with France’s prestigious honor “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters”. Sanjana is the daughter of Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor and is being given this honor for her commendable contribution to the world of theater. French Culture Minister Frank Risterer is currently on an official visit to India. He will present the insignia to “Sanjana Kapoor” at a special function.
  14. Senior Sports Administrator “Anil Khanna” was announced to be named lifetime president by the “Asian Tennis Federation” (ATF).   15. “Deepa Malik”, Rio Paralympic medalist and awarded the Padma Shri and Khel Ratna Award, has been elected as the President of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI). The term of this committee will be four years. “Deepa” was selected unanimously.
  16. It has been decided to confer “Padmavibhushan” on the 6-time boxing world champion “MC Mary Kom”. She is the first female player to win this award. He is the only boxer in the world to have won a total of eight medals at the World Championship. This time a total of seven people will be awarded the Padma Vibhushan Award. Padma Vibhushan is India’s second-highest honor.

The award is organized by the All India Agricultural Students Association. He has been given this award for spreading the Rs 30 crore entrepreneurship project in agri-business and motivating the students towards the agricultural sector in Tamil Nadu. He was recently given the award at the 5th National Youth Conference held at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Raipur.
  19. Former captain of the Indian women’s hockey team and Arjuna awardee “Sunita Chandra” passed away. She was 76 years old. She played for the Indian hockey women’s team from the years 1956 to 1966 and during this period she was also the captain of the team from 1963 to 1966.
  20. The “MNREGA” (Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act) scheme recently released a financial statement. According to this statement, 96% of the total allocated amount has been spent.   27. Dutch footballer “Peter Robert Reinbrink” died at the age of 72 in “Brussels”, Belgium. He was born on 3 July 1947 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
  28. Filmmaker “Vinay Kumar Sinha” died at the age of 74 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He was the producer of the famous film “Andaz Apna Apna”, which featured Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the lead roles, which was released in 1994.

The “Paleontologists” have discovered a remarkable “new species” of “meat-eating dinosaurs” in Utah that settled in the floodplains of western North America during the Late “Jurassic period” 157–152 million years ago. This species belongs to the “Allosauroids”, a group of small to large-bodied, two-legged carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the “Jurassic and Cretaceous” period, and is referred to as “Utah”. Cultural history has been unveiled in the museum. Earlier, biologists thought that there was only one species of “allosaurus” in Jurassic North America.
