  1. Central Board of Secondary Education has launched the examination center locator app CBSE ECL and online exam center management system OECMS. CBSE ECL is a mobile application that will help students to locate the examination center and to know the distance between the examination center from their location. This app has been launched to provide information about the examination center for the convenience of the students. Also, the Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced an online examination center management system for school principals under the name of OECMS. This system will help the school principals to get real-time information such as availability of observers, absentee students, disabled students, improper means and various other details at one click.
  2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute support equipment to senior citizens under the National Vayoshri Yojana and the Assistance to Divyangjans under the Equipment Assistance Scheme-ADIP at a huge camp organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This is the largest such distribution camp being organized in the country. More than 56 thousand different types of aid equipment will be distributed free of cost to 26 thousand beneficiaries in the camp. The cost of these support devices is more than Rs. 19 crores.
  3. India and Myanmar have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations. The two sides signed ten agreements in various sectors including infrastructure, energy, communication, and health. The agreements were signed today in New Delhi after talks between Prime Minister Modi and Myanmar President “U Win Mi in”. The two leaders discussed extensively on island issues. Mr. “U win Mi in” arrived in New Delhi on a four-day visit to India. She is accompanied by Myama’s first lady Dow Cho Cho.
  4. Renowned Vedic scholar and Gandhian, “Sudhakar Chaturvedi” died in Bengaluru. He was given the title of Charvvedi for his mastery over the four Vedas. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and the Arya Samaj movement, Chaturvedi wrote more than 50 spiritual books in four languages. He spent his last few years teaching Vedas to enthusiastic youth.
  5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the 296-km Bundelkhand Expressway in Chitrakoot. The Uttar Pradesh government project will pass through Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, and Jalaun and will also serve as a complement to the defense industrial corridor. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a ten thousand farmers produce an organization.
  6. Amitabh Kant, Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog released the Artificial Intelligence-AI Foundation for students.   7. The 6th OPV (Offshore Patrol Vessel) ‘Vajra’ was launched in Chennai. With this OPV, it will be easy to protect 7,500 km long coastline and 20 lakh sq km Exclusive Economic Zone. This will also help in protecting about one lakh merchant ships transporting in the Indian Ocean from all over the world. OPV can be used for patrolling, survey, anti-smuggling and counter-terrorism activities.
  8. The Hurun Report has released the list of the richest individuals – Hurun Global Rich List 2020. The Hurun Global Rich List 2020 lists the world’s richest individuals (US-dollar billionaires). The 9th edition of the Hurun Global Rich List ranked 2,816 billionaires from 71 countries and 2,182 companies. Among countries, China topped the list with 799 billionaires, while the United States with 626 billionaires was second. In terms of individuals, Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world with a net worth of US $ 140 billion. Mukesh Ambani ranks 9th in the list of richest people with a wealth of US $ 67 billion along with Larry Page and Steve Ballmer. Mukesh Ambani is the only Asian person in the top 10 list.
  9. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched EASE 3.0 (Enhanced Access and Service Excellence). It was launched with the annual report of EASE 2.0. The main objective of EASE 3.0 is to enable and make smart public sector banking technology. The objective of this initiative is to ensure ease of banking for customers. With this, the Government of India has also warned about the over-dependence of public sector banks on credit rating agencies while sanctioning loans.

Cibil, the largest company providing information on credit rating or credit rating in India, has announced the appointment of Rajesh Kumar of HDFC Bank as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive. He will succeed in Satish Pillai, who is leaving the company to become the Asia Region Business President of a US-based company. Before joining Cibil, Kumar was the Group President of Retail Credit and Risk at HDFC Bank. He will be responsible for taking the business of CIBIL India to the next stage to continue supporting the national finance industry and customers.

The government of India has announced to hold the summit RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020 (Responsible Artificial Intelligence for Social Empowerment-2020) in New Delhi on 11-12 April. RAISE 2020 is India’s first artificial intelligence summit organized by the government in collaboration with industry and academia. Experts from Artificial Intelligence from all over the world will participate in this summit.
  12. Saudi Arabia has ceased entry of “Zarine (people)” arriving for the “Umrah” in the holy city of Mecca after 2800 deaths in the world from coronaviruses. On behalf of the Saudi government, it was said that this system has been implemented temporarily to protect the people of the country from virus infection. After Mecca, a visit to Madina was also prohibited for performing religious rituals. Actually “Umrah” is similar to Hajj. But the journey to Mecca and Medina in the fixed Islamic month is called “Haj”. Apart from this, the religious visit to these places throughout the year is called “Umra”.
  13. Most of the temples of South India have been built in ancient times. Among them is the “Jambukeshwar Akhilandeshwari Temple” located at Tiruvanackaval in Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu. It was built by the “King Kochengnan Chola” of the Chola dynasty. During the ongoing excavation in this Shiva temple, an urn filled with 504 small gold coins and 1 large coin came out. The weight of gold coins is 1.716 kg. It is estimated that these coins can be dated to around the 10th-12th century. According to temple officials, the coins have letters of Arabic script.
  14. To encourage the shooting of films in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has implemented the ‘Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy – 2020’. Under this, many concessions will be provided to filmmakers in Madhya Pradesh. The IIFA Awards will be held in Indore in March. In this three-day mega event of Bollywood, 5000 celebrities associated with the film will arrive. The state government believes that with the increase in the shooting of films, the tourist places of the state will be recognized at the national and international levels and will increase employment opportunities directly and indirectly.
  15. Indian Railways has started the country’s first “Rail Restaurant” at Asansol Railway Station in West Bengal. It is named “Restaurant on Wheels”. According to the railway officials of the East Zone, the restaurant has been built by mixing two old Memu coaches. It will be open to both railway passengers and the general public.   17. Union Minister of Food Processing Industries “Harsimrat Kaur Badal” has launched the “Market Intelligence and Early Warning System” (MIEWS) web portal. The portal can be accessed through http://miews.nafed-india.com. The MIEWS dashboard and portal is the first of its kind platform for “timely accurate monitoring” of tomato, onion, and potato (TOP) prices, as well as an alert for intervention under the terms of the “Operation Greens Plan”. The portal will disseminate all relevant information related to major crops such as prices and arrival time, area, yield and production, import and export, crop calendar, crop agriculture, etc., to use the visual format.

  31. The department concerned with floriculture in Jammu and Kashmir has installed 13 lakh “Tulip bulbs” in “Tulip gardens” this year. Last year 12 lakh bulbs were installed. It aims to make this popular tourist destination of Kashmir more attractive. The “tulip garden” developed in the foothills of the Zabarwan Hills marks the beginning of the tourist season in the Union Territory.
