  1. Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched the national program Vidyadhaan to Point Zero to contribute to e-learning content in New Delhi. The program has been launched because of the growing need for e-learning content for students at the school and higher education levels in the state emanating from COVID-19. Vidyadan is a general national program that will develop e-learning content at the national level. In which now anyone can prepare and send useful study material for children. The aspects that have received the maximum attention under this scheme include study videos, animations, learning plans, evaluation, and question banks. At the same time, the quality of all such material will be tested first under this scheme, then it will be made available to the students through different mediums.
  2. In 1897, the ordinance has been approved for amendment. Violent action with health workers is now a cognizable and non-bailable offense. The ordinance provides for compensation for injury or damage to health care workers or damage to property. The investigation of the case of the attack on health workers will be completed within 30 days and justice will be done within a maximum period of one year.   4. The administration of Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district has launched a vehicle called ‘Tiranga’ (Total India Remote Analysis Nirogya Abhiyan) to rapidly check for COVID-19 symptoms. The vehicle featured thermal scanning, an infrared thermometer on the bonnet, a two-way microphone system to interrogate the person inside or outside the vehicle, and a mobile camera for clicking identification cards or photographs. A tricolor has been made on this vehicle so that people can identify it immediately so that the health workers can get help. The train will screen hotspots, buffer zones, and camps for migrant workers and dependents.
  5. The Gujarat government launched the third phase of the Sujalam Suphalaam watershed campaign amid lockdown. The scheme will continue till June 10. Through these grocery stores, customers will be able to order all kinds of goods. These shops will also serve as a point of delivery. Geomart is the wholesale market from where grocery merchants will take the goods. Digital payment will have to be done from WhatsApp itself.
  7. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director (ED) of Bajaj Auto, was appointed President of the International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA), based in Geneva, for two years. IMMA represents the globally driven two-wheeler manufacturing industry. He will replace Johannes Lowman.
  8. David Lee has been appointed as the new CEO of Huawei Telecom in India. He replaces Jay Chen, who has been promoted to handle Asia Pacific level business activity. David Lee was serving as CEO of Huawei Cambodia before returning to India for this new role. He joined Huawei in 2002 and has a good experience working in India, including roles such as Sales Vice President and HR Vice President.
  9. City Union Bank Limited has re-appointed N Kamakodi as its MD and CEO. This decision has been taken after the approval of the re-appointment from the Reserve Bank of India.
