  1. Brazilian President “Jair Bolsonaro” will be the chief guest at India’s 71st Republic Day this year. They will arrive in New Delhi on 24 January. He will be accompanied by a delegation, including seven ministers. During his four-day visit to India, he will call on the Indian President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. On 27 January, he will address the India-Brazil Business Forum.
  2. The 12th National Adivasi Youth Exchange Program was started in Puducherry. Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr. Kiran Bedi inaugurated the program. Two hundred youth from Naxal-affected districts of Chhattisgarh are participating in this week-long program. The event is being jointly organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and Puducherry Government to ensure the development and empowerment of tribal youth. Under this, the youth will be taken to various places in Puducherry to make them aware of the language, tradition, culture, costumes, food and other aspects of Puducherry.
  3. According to the announcement made by the Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, the One Nation, One Ration Card scheme will be implemented across India from 01 June 2020. After the introduction of this card, there will be only one type of ration card in the entire country. Currently, the scheme is operational in 12 states across the country from 01 January 2020.
  4. The Security Acquisition Council of the Ministry of Defense has approved the purchase of defense equipment worth more than Rs. 5000 crores made in the country itself. This will boost indigenous defense production. These devices include state-of-the-art electronic warfare equipment. The Council meeting held in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also approved the inclusion of Innovation for Defense Excellence in the defense acquisition process. In another important decision, the list of Indian companies collaborating with the original manufacturers to produce six submarines within the country has also been approved.
  5. The United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD) recently released the Global Investment Trend Monitor report. According to this report, the global foreign direct investment (FDI) was $ 1.39 trillion in 2019. Global FDI investment decreased by 1% in 2019 as compared to 2018. In this report, India has been included in the top 10 countries in terms of receiving foreign investment, in 2019, India received foreign investment of $ 49 billion. There has been an increase of 16% in FDI in India in 2019 as compared to 2018, most of this investment has been in the information and technology sector. Global Foreign Direct Investment in 2019 1. Was 39 trillion. The US received the highest foreign direct investment of $ 251 billion in 2019. China is in second place in this list with $ 140 billion foreign direct. According to this report, FDI in Latin America and the Caribbean has increased by 16%. FDI in South Asia has increased by 10% in 2019. FDI has decreased by 20% in Pakistan, while FDI has decreased by 6% in Bangladesh.
  6. Ministry of Earth Sciences has launched the Seismic Hazard Microzone Project in major cities of India. The objective of this project is to reduce the hazards of seismic activities by taking appropriate measures. The project has been completed in Sikkim state and eight other cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Dehradun Ahmedabad, and Gandhidham. Japan is the best example for the proper implementation of microzone technologies.
  7. Priya Prakash, founder and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of India-based HealthSetGo, has won the Global Citizen Award: Cisco Youth Leadership Award for 2019. The award was given for their school health program that provides healthcare to children. The award was presented by Cisco Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer Fran Katsoudas at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
  8. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was awarded the prestigious Crystal Award during the World Economic Forum meeting held in Davos, Switzerland, for her work in helping mentally ill people. He was given the award by Hilde Schwab (left), co-founder of the Sowa Enterprise. Deepika is associated with The Live Love Laugh Foundation. This Foundation, established in the year 2015, has proved to be a boon for those who suffer from mental illness.
  9. Financial expert Puneet Sood will head the Technology and Operations Center at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Sood will play a role in achieving the Bank’s goals and building strategic capabilities in India’s tech city of Bengaluru.
  10. Government CS Shetty was appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of the State Bank of India (SBI) for three years. Shetty is currently the Deputy Managing Director of SBI.
  11. The upgraded artillery was successfully tested for the first time at the Jabalpur Gun Carriage Factory in Madhya Pradesh. Sarang is a cannon manufactured entirely in India. The Sarang cannon with a capacity of one hundred 55 mm caliber was tested at the Khamaria firing range in Jabalpur. The firepower of this cannon is thirty kilometers.
  12. Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana and hub of the technology industry, has been adjudged the ‘World’s Most Dynamic City’ in the JLL City Momentum Index 2020. American real estate services firm Jones Long LaSalle (JLL) recently rated 129 cities around the world. Hyderabad ranked first in this index. After Hyderabad, Bangalore ranks in this index. It is followed by Chennai at the 5th position and Delhi in the 6th position. The top 20 cities in this index include 7 Indian cities.
  13. The Indian consulate team has won the Diplomat Cup Cricket Championship -2020 held in Sharjah. The Indian consulate team won these championships by defeating the Pakistan Consulate in a trophy organized by Skyline University College in Sharjah. The trophy was organized to union officials and staff of various consulates located in the United Arab Emirates. Consulate teams from 8 countries participated in this tournament. The consulates participating in the tournament were: India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, South Africa, Pakistan, and the US.
  14. ICICI Bank announced the introduction of ‘Cardless Cash Withdrawal’ facility from its ATMs. Under this service, you will be able to withdraw money from ICICI Bank ATM using the mobile banking application ‘iMobile’. Under this facility, 20 thousand rupees can be withdrawn in 1 day.
  15. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has canceled the license of Vodafone “m-Pesa”. Now Vodafone cannot continue the “m-Pesa” business. m-Pesa will no longer have the right to provide a payment facility as a prepaid instrument. However, m-Paisa customers and merchants can claim valid under POS. They will have the right to claim their claim settlement from the company within 3 years of canceling the license.
  16. Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur has been awarded the Champions for Change 2019 for his outstanding contribution in the field of social service. The award was given to former President Pranab Mukherjee at his residence at 10 Rajaji Marg and Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Anurag is the only Union Minister in the Government of India who has been awarded this award this year. The Champions of Change Award is given by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy Company. It is a non-profit company from the Government of India. The awardees included Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Acharya Balakrishna President Patanjali Ayurved, actress Shilpa Shetty, and many prominent personalities.
  17. Zomato has bought the Indian business of Uber Eats. According to a statement, it is an all-stock deal, under which Uber will get a 9.99 percent stake in Indian online food delivery platform Zomato. A company sold in an all-stock deal gets a stake in the buyer company instead of cash. If the value of a 9.99 percent stake in Zomato is calculated in cash, then the value of the deal will be around Rs 2,485 crore.

By pressing the mobile’s power button three times, the app sends the mobile’s location to the police emergency number. If the mobile is stolen, the photo and the location of the thief will be sent to the emergency number when the person tries to turn it off.

Sood played his first first-class match against Services in 1957 at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground, while his last Ranji match was against Jammu and Kashmir in 1964 in Srinagar. He played his only Test in 1960 against the Australian team captained by Richie Beno in Madras (now Chennai) Madras.
