  1. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched a mutual dialogue platform called COVID India Seva. People can post their questions on the Covid India service to get quick answers from the team of trained experts. The service has been launched to enable transparent e-governance delivery on a large scale in case of epidemics like COVID-19.
  2. Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman attended the fifth annual meeting of the Board of Governors of New Development Bank through a video conference. New Development Bank of BRICS Group will provide financial assistance of $ 1 billion to India. The New Development Bank was established in 2014 by BRICS member countries Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa, and China. It raises resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects.
  3. The Technology Development Board of the Department of Science and Technology has approved the funding of Mylab Discovery Solutions of Pune to increase the production of kits for screening of COVID 19 infection. It is the first Indian company to develop a PCR based test kit to detect corona infection from samples. The kit has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research and CDSCO. At present, 30 thousand such kits are being prepared every day. After getting financial assistance, this capacity can increase to one lakh kits per day.
  4. The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced that the sowing area of ​​summer crops has increased by 36%. Significantly, farming is completely exempted from lockdown. During this period rice cultivation has seen a major increase. Rainfall has increased by 14% over the previous year. Summer crops have grown to more than 52 hectares. Harvesting has increased by 95% in Madhya Pradesh, 85% in Rajasthan, and 65% in Uttar Pradesh. Harvesting is at its peak in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
  5. The National Botanical Research Institute has created an alcohol-based herbal sanitizer because of the increasing demand for sanitizers amidst coronavirus outbreaks. It has a very effective natural antimicrobial agent – basil and isopropyl alcohol to kill germs. This product of the brand name of Clean Hand Gel will be available in the market very soon. The herbal hand sanitizer has been medically tested and found to be very effective in destroying surface microbes.
  6. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has recently launched Chief Minister COVID-19 Yoddha Kalyan Yojana. About 1 lakh Anganwadi workers will get benefits under this scheme. Under this scheme, special health insurance of Rs 50 lakh will be provided to Anganwadi workers. District collectors of the state will have to list the names of eligible Anganwadi workers to get benefit from the scheme. Anganwadi workers are doing risky work by conducting a door-to-door survey. In addition to conducting surveys, she is visiting every household to provide nutritional food to children. Thus, they are acting amidst the risk of COVID-19 infection and therefore they should be provided benefits.
  7. To deal with the situation arising out of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided in consultation with the Government of India that the WMA for the remainder of the first half of the financial year 2020-21 (April 2020 to September 2020) (WMA) / Ways and Means Advance (WMA)) limit to be revised to ₹ 2,00,000 crore. Under WMA, state governments can take loans by holding securities of the Government of India with RBI. Under this provision, governments can get cash immediately from the Reserve Bank and return it with interest within 90 days. The WMA limit for state governments has been increased from 30% to 60%. That is, the State Governments can now take up to 60% of the total Government of India securities available with the RBI. With the increase of this limit, the state governments will be able to get more funds for the corona relief work.
  8. The meeting of the Economic Advisory Council of the 15th Finance Commission will be held on April 23 and 24, 2020. This council will discuss the implications of COVID-19. This two-day meeting will be conducted through a video conference. In this meeting, experts will discuss various economic aspects. The agenda of this meeting also includes public expenditure to improve the economy.
  9. Himachal Pradesh Government has launched e-Sanjeevani-OPD to provide free online medical consultation to the sick people. E-Sanjivani-OPD service has been launched to provide free online medical counseling to sick people at home throughout the state. Thus, through this new initiative, the Government of Himachal Pradesh will ensure the convenience of the health services of the people in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic. To avail of the thane-Sanjeevani-OPD facility, citizens must have a computer, laptop, tablet as well as webcam mic, speaker, and internet connection. A team of 16 doctors from various medical colleges of the state will be available on all working days to provide free online medical consultation. This facility will prove beneficial for those sick people who feel uncomfortable going to hospitals due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Rajasthan government has formed a special partnership with the Pioneer Age and the HealthSathi app in the interest of the people. 68 million people suffering from lockdown and epidemics through AYAP will be able to consult specialist doctors and get medicines. Taking strong steps to tackle the Corona epidemic, the Rajasthan government has requested people to take treatment from specialist doctors sitting at home through the Age App. In Kota, Udaipur, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Ajmer, Pali, and Jaipur districts, people are taking advantage of the facilities of age-apps at home. The list of all lab / medical stores registered on the Health Partner App will be available to consumers on the Age App. Medford’s, the company that makes age and health partner apps, was founded in 2017 by Shreyans Mehta, Nikhil Baheti, and Saida Dhanavat.
  11. The cabinet of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who had been running the government alone in Madhya Pradesh for 29 days, was formed. To check the quality of the kit, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has decided to send members of its eight institutes to the field. States are currently barred from testing the kit for two days. This kit, based on the principle of testing for antibodies in the blood, is being used for surveillance, not for confirmation of corona. After such a big difference in the results, its use for surveillance has also been questioned. Last week itself, 6.5 lakh rapid testing kits were imported from China.
