Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi signed a contract to manufacture and supply two ships for ASKO Maritime AS, Norway. It also has the option of constructing two other electric ships (ferry). The Union Minister of State for Shipping (Independent Charge), Mr. Mansukh Mandavia, praised CSL for achieving the contract to build the world’s first fully automated electric ship for ASKOMaritime, Norway, and for this historic achievement in the shipbuilding industry. CSL is India’s largest commercial shipbuilder. The company received this prestigious export order from ASKO Maritime AS, a subsidiary of Norgesgroupen ASA. Norgesgruppen is one of Norway’s largest retail companies. This electric ship project is an ambitious Norway project, Which is partly funded by the Norwegian government. GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has introduced India’s first fully contactless airport car parking to provide a safe airport between COVID-19.
