Information on pesticides in the market will be made available in digital format. This will help farmers in choosing the right pesticide. About 234 pesticides are used in India. Four of these pesticides are in the ‘la’ category of the World Health Organization, 15 in the ‘lb’ category. While 76 pesticides are in the Class II category of the World Health Organization. Only 40% of pesticides used in the country are registered. Classification by the World Health Organization: –

  1. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind flagged off ‘INS Shivaji’ on 13 February 2020 in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari was also present on the war vessel on this occasion. INS Shivaji, Lonavala was commissioned as HMIS Shivaji in 1945. It is a category ‘A’ training establishment of the Indian Navy. INS Shivaji has provided 75 years of brilliant service to the nation by imparting training in engineering to the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Allied Naval Officers.   3. The Indian Navy’s Sandhawk class hydrographic survey ship, INS Jamuna (J16) arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 06 February 20 under the supervision of Captain HA Hardas. The ship was deployed in Sri Lanka based on a mutual agreement to conduct a joint hydrographic survey on the South West coast of Sri Lanka. Over a two-month deployment period, the ship will carry out detailed hydrographic surveys and several coast-based survey activities. Sri Lankan naval personnel will prepare the ship during the joint survey. Also, Sri Lankan Navy personnel will be provided ‘hands-on’ training during every operational turn in the port.
