  1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) prints currency notes of all denominations except one rupee note. One rupee note is printed by the Ministry of Finance and is signed by the Finance Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. The Finance Ministry of the Government of India has decided that a new one rupee note will be printed again. The Union Finance Ministry has issued a gazette notification on 7 February 2020, notification of the rules for printing one rupee currency notes. Many details about this note have been given in this information. Regarding a new note of one rupee;

It will have a grain design in the ‘₹’ emblem, indicating the country’s agricultural dominance, and the surrounding design will feature a picture of the oil discovery platform ‘Sagar Samrat’ and the price panel will print the price in fifteen Indian languages.
  1. The World Health Organization states that the official name of the disease caused by the new coronavirus is “COVID-2019 (CORONA VIRUS DISEASE – CONVID-19)”. The head of the WHO “Tedros Adnom Ghebius” announced the name in Geneva. The term coronavirus refers only to the group of which it is a member, rather than to its latest format. The new name is derived from the coronavirus and disease and together 2019 is for the year in which the virus was revealed.
  2. There is going to be a Conference of Parties of Convention (COP 13) on migratory species (migratory species) from 15 to 22 February in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. India is hosting this convention for the first time organized by the United Nation Environment Program. For this Randeep Hooda has been made the brand ambassador. India will include the Asian elephant and Godavan (Great Indian Bustard) in the global conservation list of extinct migratory species. This list will be discussed at the 13th Convention on the Protection of Migratory Species of the Environment Treaty (Wildlife) under the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). In addition to these 7 species have been identified for preparation of conservation and recovery action plan for dugong, whale shark, sea turtle (two species), etc.

ClimFishCon 2020, an international conference on the impact of climate change, will begin on 12 February in Kerala on the subject of ‘hydrological cycle, ecosystem, fisheries, and food security’. The conference will have more than 300 delegates from 12 countries, including scientists, researchers, administrators, policymakers, academics, and entrepreneurs. Also, Fisher, Aqua Farmers, students, and other stakeholders will participate. The conference is jointly organized by the CUSAT School of Industrial Fisheries and the Department of Fisheries, Kerala.
  4. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the Underground Water Act, 2020 headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The purpose of this Act is to improve the level of groundwater. Registration of submersible pumps will be made mandatory under this act. Farmers and domestic users will not be required to pay fees for the use of these pumps. Under this Act, rainwater harvesting will be made mandatory in all private schools and colleges.

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) has organized a workshop on ‘Forest Wealth and Entrepreneurship Development’ under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in New Delhi. The workshop on ‘Forest Wealth and Entrepreneurship Development’ was inaugurated by Union Tribal Minister Arjun Munda.
  6. Babulal Marandi’s Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) is going to merge with BJP. The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee.   7. The Government of India has decided to classify all medical devices including implants and contraceptives as drugs. Notification regarding reclassification was issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With its implementation, all medical devices will now come under the Central Drugs and Standards Control Organization (CDSCO). The changes will be implemented from 1 April 2020. The reclassification will enable the responsible agency for medicines, “CDSCO”, to tighten regulation to improve safety and quality. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the medical devices that will be reclassified include those devices that support life support, diagnosis, of any disease or disability. Used for treatment or prevention. This will also include equipment that is used to disinfect other medical devices. This notification will cover almost all medical devices sold in the market.
  8. The theme of Hunar Haat, being organized by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs at India Gate Lawn in Rajpath, Rajdhani, from February 13 to 23, will be ‘Kaushal Ko Kam’. The 20th Hunar Haat organized by the Ministry of Minorities will be inaugurated by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on 13 February.   9. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will develop an air quality monitoring network access to 90 locations in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It will be the largest network in India. The Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) together with the Zonal Cultural Centers of the Ministry of Culture has prepared a list of ICH elements for the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). This information was given by the Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Prahlada Singh Patel.
  11. The Cabinet in principle approved the proposal to infuse capital of two and a half thousand crore rupees in three public sector insurance companies. These companies are Oriental Insurance Company Limited, National Insurance Company Limited, and United India Insurance Company Limited. This decision has been taken given the financial position of these companies.
  12. The Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) has manufactured a new bulletproof jacket named ‘Bhabha Kavach’, which will be used by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The CISF was initially given five bulletproof jackets. The weight of this jacket is 6.8 kg. It is the lightest jacket in the Level-3 Plus category. This jacket is manufactured using carbon nanotubes and hot-pressed carbide technology.
  13. The 20th International Seminar is being organized by the National Security Guard (NSG) in Manesar, Haryana on the theme of ‘Emerging Framework of Terrorism and Understanding the IED Threat’. The seminar was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy. Representatives of several countries, senior police officers of various states and security officers and other stakeholders are participating in this seminar. The two-day event covered a wide range of scenarios on the topic ‘Combating terrorism and combating IEDs’ during a mass discussion.
  14. Two teachers from each school will be made “Health and Wellness Envoys” to bring health awareness to the students. Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey launched the “Health and Wellness Envoy Program” at the school under Ayushman Bharat in New Delhi. Initially, it will be started in 200 districts.
  15. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate a conference on the subject of drug trafficking control for BIMSTEC countries in New Delhi. It is being organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau. At the conference, BIMSTEC member countries will discuss the challenges of narcotics. BIMSTEC is a regional organization with seven member countries, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
  16. Aerospace firm Anant Technologies (ATL), Hyderabad has signed an agreement to manufacture 6 foreign-owned satellites in India. This is the first time a private firm is making satellites for global customers. The firm will soon open a satellite manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. Anant Technologies will manufacture foreign-owned satellites weighing 50 kg and 250 kg for customers in Sweden and France and integrate about 30% of low-cost satellites.
  17. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy inaugurated the Salem Cricket Foundation (SCF) ground at Valapadi in Salem, Tamil Nadu along with National Cricket Academy chief and former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.
  18. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a unique initiative to introduce the tollfree helpline number to solve the queries of the students before the board exams starting next week. These helpline numbers will work from 8 am to 8 pm. Students can contact 1800-180-5310 and 1800-180-5312 if they have any questions about the board examination. Experts in various disciplines including English, Science, Geography, Hindi, and Sanskrit will be available on these numbers. Questions related to these can be asked.

A citizen of Japan holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest living male in the world. 112-year-old and 344-day-old Chiteshu Watanabe, who believed in laughter, was born in northern Japan in 1907. Chiteshu is fond of planting bonsai plants associated with the sugarcane farming project. At the moment, Tanaka is the oldest living woman in the world. His age is 117 years.

  24. Senior journalist “Nandu R. Kulkarni” died of a heart attack. Kulkarni, the Mumbai bureau chief of “The Statesman” newspaper, was 70 years old. Kulkarni started his career as an intern in 1976 with ‘The Indian Express’. Kulkarni was on The Indian Express for 16 years. He joined “The Statesman” in 1992 as Bureau Chief.
  25. International fashion designer “Wendell Rodrigues” passed away. He was 59 years old. He received the Padma Shri in 2014. He was identified as a designer who brought international identity to Goa’s traditional costumes through his designs. He was also a writer and a social worker.
