  1. Saudi Aramco became the first company in the world to have a $ 2 trillion (Rs 142 lakh crore) market cap. The world’s largest oil company opened with a 10% gain at 38.70 riyals ($ 10.32). This increased the market cap by $ 120 billion (billion) to $ 2 trillion. This is equivalent to the total market cap of Apple ($ 1190 billion) and Amazon ($ 867 billion). Aramco’s valuation is two-and-a-half times Saudi Arabia’s GDP ($ 779.29 billion).
  2. The European Space Agency (ESA) is going to start operations from 2025 to pick up the wrecked satellite in space. It will be the world’s first ‘space junk collector’, named Clear Space-1. The project will be completed by a startup from Switzerland. Scientists believe that the debris collected in space can cause problems for future missions. About 943 crore rupees will be spent on the mission. The UK has assisted about Rs 100 crore for this project. At present, about two thousand satellites are working in space, while more than three thousand satellites have failed.
  3. The 126th Constitutional Amendment Bill 2019 has been passed by the Rajya Sabha to extend the tenure of reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes in the Lok Sabha and State Legislatures to ten years. The Upper House passed it unanimously and all 163 members present there voted in favor of the Bill. The Lok Sabha has already passed it. In this bill, the reservation period has been extended until 25 January 2030.
  4. The International Service Center Authority Bill 2019 has been passed in Parliament. It aims to establish a unified authority for the development and regulation of the financial services market in international financial services centers in India. Presently Reserve Bank of India, SEBI, IRDA And various agencies like PFRDAA have been entrusted with the responsibility of regulating different markets.
  5. The Archaeological Survey of India has identified 138 monuments as “Must See” (must see) monuments, as well as information shared on the “Must See” portal of the Archaeological Survey of India. There are 38 World Heritage Sites in India, out of which 22 are cultural sites including monuments/buildings and caves which are under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India. ASI’s ‘Must See’ list includes first-class Indian monuments and archaeological sites, which are included in UNESCO’s (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage List. Such monuments and sites represent a wonderful combination of art and architecture, planning and design.
  6. Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar set the world record for most umpiring Test matches. He overtook West Indies umpire, Steve Buckner. Buckner was the highest umpiring in 128 Tests. Dar achieved this feat by landing in the Perth Test between Australia and New Zealand. This (Dar) is his 129th Test as an umpire. Before umpiring, Dar played 10 years of first-class cricket in Pakistan. He started his international umpiring career in the 2003 match between England-Bangladesh in Dhaka. Dar is also close to the record of umpiring in most ODIs. He has officiated in 207 ODIs so far and is just two matches behind first-placed South Africa’s Rudy Crutzen. He has officiated in 209 ODIs. This Pakistani umpire has also played this responsibility so far in 46 T20s.
  7. Ashley Barty of Australia, the world number-1 women’s tennis player, was voted WTA Player of the Year. She won the French Open this year. It was his first Grand Slam title. Barty is the first woman in Australia to reach first place after 1976 in the WTA rankings. The last time Evon Galagong Kawale reached first place. Barty received 82% of the media vote. 23-year-old Barty started the season in 15th place. Barty coach Craig Tizard was voted WTA Coach of the Year. 19-year-old Andres was voted Newcomer of the Year. America’s Sophia Kahnin became Most Improved Player and Switzerland’s Belinda Benisich became the Comeback Player of the Year. Timia Bebos and Kristina Maladenovich were voted Best Doubles Team.

Odisha has been bestowed with the Bronze Award of the World Habitat Award for the Jaga Mission (Jaga Mission) called Odisha Liveable Habitat Mission (OLHM), a slum land mission with millions of urban dwellers living in slums. – Work is done for the benefit of poor people. The awards are given by the UK-based World Habitat, which is awarded annually to promote innovation housing projects around the world. Jaga is a society under the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), Government of Odisha. The objective of OLHM-JAGA is to convert slums into habitable houses and under which land rights certificates are given to 52,682 urban poor families living in slums. The mission works under the “Odisha Land Rights to Slum Dowers Act” passed in September 2017.

Indian Space Research Organization-ISRO has started preparations for the establishment of the third rocket launch pad at Kulasekharapattinam, a mountain village in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. The district administration has appointed eight other tehsildars in addition to a special tehsildar to speed up the process of land acquisition. Currently, ISRO has two launch pads at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The demand for additional launch pads has increased as the number of satellites launched from India has increased as international satellites are launched from these launch pads besides indigenous.
  3. Indian women’s hockey team captain Rani Rampal and Asian Games gold medalist shooter Saurabh Chaudhary were given the top awards at the FICCI India Sports Awards 2019. FICCI has given these awards to appreciate the contribution of the players.
  4. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a historic decision to protect women and children. Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagmohan Reddy approved the implementation of Andhra Pradesh Directions Act 2019, Andhra Pradesh Criminal Law Amendment Act 2019 and Andhra Pradesh Special Courts Formation Act 2019 for hearing crimes against women and children. The draft Disha Act provides for severe punishment including the death penalty for those who commit heinous crimes against women. Cases of sexual offenses against women and children, acid attacks and harassment of women have been brought under the purview of this law.
  5. Switzerland will be the partner country in the 17th edition of BioAsia2020 to be held from 17 to 19 February 2020 with the theme ‘Today for Tomorrow’ in Hyderabad, Telangana. Switzerland is using new technologies in the medical healthcare world due to which many pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland have emerged as medical hubs. While the city of Hyderabad has become the main hub of the healthcare technology sector, which will make the country aware of the Switzerland Health Tech ecosystem through the Bio Asia Summit.
  6. An informal parliamentary committee set up to study issues related to pornographic content on the Internet and social media platforms has been turned into an ad hoc panel. It will be chaired by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh.
  7. India’s star footballer “Sunil Chhetri” has been named the brand ambassador of “Puma” for three years. Sunil Chhetri is currently ranked second in the list of current goalscorers with the most goals in international football. Pepsi’s Summer 2020 campaign will be based on Salman Khan’s upcoming film Dabangg-3. PepsiCo India will launch a 360-degree campaign to take advantage of the new association. Salman Khan has also been the brand ambassador of PepsiCo product ‘Thums Up’ three years ago.
  9. The government has ordered 1292 square meters of “human skin” to treat people injured by a volcanic eruption in New Zealand’s White Island. Skin is desperately needed to treat the victims. Most people were injured by gas and ashes. 27 patients have scorched over 30%.

  12. The government has decided to sell 100 percent of its capital in connection with the disinvestment of Air India. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information in response to a written question in the Lok Sabha. He said that after the formation of the new government a special alternative process has been prepared for Air India and the process of its policy disinvestment has been resumed.
  13. The first of its kind workshop on bamboo cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on the 19th and 20th of this month in Jammu. This first workshop will be inaugurated by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. The workshop will focus on promoting the possible cultivation of bamboo in the Kandi areas of Jammu, its importance as an economic activity, creating entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.

The Ministry of Shipping (MoS) has announced that Mongla and Chatogram (both in Bangladesh) have been declared “Port of Call” under the “Coastal Shipping Agreement” between India and Bangladesh. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Agreement and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the use of “Chatogram Port” and “Mongla Ports” for movement of goods between India and Bangladesh have been signed between the two countries. The Port of Call is an intermediate halt for a ship on its scheduled voyage for cargo operations.
  15. The United States (US) decided to close the World Trade Organization (WTO) appeals court in response to the WTO’s decision against federal trade rules imposed by the US administration. The appeals court of the World Trade Organization acts as a trade dispute settlement body for its member countries.
  16. The Board of Directors of Dhanalakshmi Bank, a private sector bank located in Thrissur city of Kerala, has appointed V Viswanathan as Additional Director of the bank with effect from 09 December 2019.
  17. Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has postponed his visit to India. As per the pre-determined schedule, they were to reach New Delhi to participate in the Sixth Indian Ocean Dialogue. Giving this information in New Delhi, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ravish Kumar said that the visit of Bangladesh Foreign Minister has been postponed due to the events in connection with the Victory Day in Bangladesh on 16 December.

To strengthen Indo-Maldives Development Cooperation, the Import-Export Bank of India will provide a loan facility of over $ 800 million for it. This is the second project after the Water and Sanitation Project in 34 islands of Maldives. Cooperation between India and Maldives has intensified since the formation of the new government under the leadership of President Ibrahim Mohammad Solih.
