  1. India has dispatched naval ships Kesari Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros and Seychelles along with Kovid-19 related items. Necessary medicines and necessary food items have been sent to the ship. The statement of the Ministry of External Affairs says that this assistance has been sent after the request of these countries to deal with the epidemic. Medical support teams will also be deployed in Mauritius and Comoros. These teams will assist the government in dealing with the emergent situation arising out of Kovid-19 and dengue fever. The ship has essential medicines for Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros, and Seychelles, while about six hundred tons of food items have also been sent to the Maldives. Ayurvedic medicines have also been sent to Mauritius. The consignments sent to Madagascar and Comoros also contain hydroxychloroquine tablets. The Maldives, This drug has already been prescribed in Mauritius and Seychelles. This assistance is being sent under Mission Sagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of ocean security and economic growth for all in the region.
  2. The Research Center building (RCI), Hyderabad, the premier laboratory of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has developed an automated and contactless UVC sanitization cabinet, named Defense Research Ultraviolet Sanitizer (DRUVS). It is designed to disinfect mobile phones, iPads, laptops, currency notes, checks, invoices, passbooks, paper, envelopes, etc. The DRUVS cabinet is being operated in a contactless manner which is very important to prevent the spread of the virus. The facility of opening and closing the sensor switch and drawer – makes its operation automatic and contactless. Uvc has an impact (360-degree exposure) on items placed inside the cabinet. After the disinfection process is over, the system goes into sleep mode so the operator does not have to wait or stand near the equipment.
  3. The government has started work on a big scheme. Under the scheme, 12 new dedicated TV channels will be started to teach children in the country. That is, there will be separate TV channels for each class, which will have classes at the same time as the schools. The Ministry of Human Resource Development met with the Prime Minister on the steps taken to continue the educational activities in the Corona crisis. Work on this has started after the meeting. The scheme has been named ‘PM E-Vidya.’ All these channels will be made available only from the 32 channels of Swayam Prabha with the ministry. Currently, many of these channels are allocated to educational institutions like UGC, NIOS, and IGNOU. Swayamprabha’s channels are available free on all DTH (Direct to Home). These channels can be demanded by the service provider.
  4. The National Institute of Virology, Pune has developed the indigenous antibody-based ELISA test kit, “Kovid Kavach”, for the first time for the diagnosis of the coronavirus. The kit has demonstrated high sensitivity and accuracy in validation tests at various sites. It can test about 90 samples in about two and a half hours. It will play an important role in detecting coronavirus infection. This “Kovid armor” kit will not only allow for multiple investigations in a day but will also help the investigative team to detect as many Corona positives as possible.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is setting up the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) under the National Geodesy Program at its campus. It is here that the country’s first Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) system will be put in place to monitor the galaxy, stars, and other planets. VLBI is a large antenna system that will capture radio and other waves from thousands of light-years away. The manufacture of this antenna is based on indigenous technology. It is designed and built by Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Electronics Cooperation of India Limited, National Physical Laboratory, and other institutions are doing. IIT Kanpur will be followed by VLBI in Gujarat and Assam. The main station of the three will be IIT Kanpur. Right now developed countries like China, Japan, the USA, Germany, Australia are using VLBI technology. There are 40 VLBIs in the USA, 10 in Japan, five in China.
  6. Amid the outbreak of the epidemic, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the antigen test for the first time. For the first time, it has been authorized to detect and treat COVID-19 infection using antigen-test. The FDA said in its release stated that the coronavirus antigen will be a new type of test. This will make Corona’s screening process easier, and it will also be effective in his treatment. Antigen testing is the third type of test to be authorized by the FDA. Currently, the only way to diagnose active COVID-19 is to test a patient’s nasal swab for the genetic material of the virus. This can take hours and requires expensive, specialized equipment, mainly in commercial laboratories, hospitals, or universities. Another type looks for antibodies in the blood, the protein produced by the body days or weeks after fighting an infection.
  7. In Madhya Pradesh, all policemen who have served for thirty days in the fight against Corona will be awarded the Karmaveer Medal. At the same time, the problems of the families of martyrs and other deceased police personnel in Madhya Pradesh will now be solved through the help-desk.   8. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has tied up with Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) to produce indigenous vaccines against the coronavirus. The National Institute of Virology (NIV) is a preparation for making this vaccine from a virus strain isolated at Pune. The ICMR reported that the virus strain has been sent from NIV to BBIL. In collaboration with BBIL, ICMR has started work towards vaccine preparation. The ICMR-NIV will provide full support to BBIL towards the preparation of the vaccine.

Because of this, the government has decided to increase the limit of borrowing from the market to Rs 4.2 lakh crore during the current financial year.
