  1. The Union Agriculture Ministry has said that under the ‘Drop-More Crop (more crop per drop)’ component of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, four thousand crore rupees have been allocated to the states during the current financial year. The scheme aims to promote micro-irrigation technology in farming. The Ministry has also created a Micro Irrigation Fund of five thousand crore rupees through NABARD. The Ministry stated that under this scheme, irrigation facilities were provided in about 47 lakh hectares of land during the year 2015-16 to 2019-20.
