  1. Former Chief Election Commissioner “TN Seshan” passed away. 87-year-old ‘Seshan’ breathed his last in Chennai after cardiac arrest. The 10th Chief Election Commissioner of India TN Seshan’s full name was Tirunelai Narayan Iyer Seshan. He held this position from 12 December 1990 to 11 December 1996. He made many changes in the Indian election system. Voter ID card was also started by him in India. He was also awarded the “Ramon Magsaysay Award” in 1996. His theme was famous, “Politicians are afraid of just two people, one God and the other Seshan”. He also wrote the books “The Degeneration of India” and “A Heart Full of Burden”.
  2. A new stock of crude oil has been found in the southern part of Iran. President Hassan Rouhani said that new reserves of oil are expected to contain 53 billion barrels of crude oil. This is expected to increase Iran’s crude oil reserves by more than one-third. Rouhani said that new oil reserves have been found in the Khuzestan province of Iran. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is going to United Arab Emirates today to attend the Ministerial inaugural session of the International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference to be held in Abu Dhabi from 10 to 12 November. He will also participate in the ministers’ discussion. He is also accompanied by a delegation of officers and businessmen.

Defending champion and world number-1 Kento Momota of Japan retained his men’s singles title at the China Open Badminton Tournament (China Open) by beating world number two Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei.   11. France has won the Fed Cup tennis tournament by defeating Australia three-two. France’s Cristina Mladenovic and Caroline García won the decisive doubles match to give France the first Fed Cup title since 2003. The French pair defeated the Australian duo of Ashley Barty and Samantha Stosur 6-4, 6-3. This was the last Fed Cup played in the current format. Next year in the Fed Cup, 12 countries will participate in a six-day tournament in Budapest, ending the domestic competition.
  12. Shooter Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar won the bronze medal in the 50m rifle 3 position event at the 14th Asian Championship in Doha. He qualified for the Tokyo Olympics with a bronze. He became the 13th shooter in the country to get an Olympic quota. 18-year-old Aishwarya, who hails from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, gave the country the third Olympic ticket in this event.   14. Former Brazilian President Lula de Silva was released after serving a sentence of one and a half years in cases of corruption. The 74-year-old leftist Silva was accused of being involved in large-scale corruption scandal cases, including by influential Brazilian politicians and businessmen.
