  1. The Ministry of Culture has undertaken a project to reprint 108 issues of Mongolian Kanjur under the National Manuscripts Mission (NMM). The first set of five reprinted marks of Mongolian Kanjur under NMM was presented to President Shri Ram Nath Kovind on 4 July 2020, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, also known as Dharma Chakra Day. After this, a set was handed over to Mr. Gonching Ganbold, Ambassador of Mongolia to India in the presence of Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Minority Affairs by Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge). It is expected that by March 2022, all 108 issues of Mongolian Kanjur will be published. Documentation of knowledge preserved in manuscripts in February 2003 by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, National Manuscripts Mission, Government of India Was launched with the mandate of conservation and dissemination. One of the objectives of the mission is to publish rare and unpublished manuscripts so that the knowledge enshrined in them can be disseminated to researchers, scholars, and the general public at large. Under this plan, the mission of reprinting the 108 points of Mongolian Kanjur has been initiated by the mission. This work was done by eminent scholar Prof. It is being done under the supervision of Lokesh Chandra.
  2. License and Transfer of Technology for Akash Missile Weapon System (Indian Army Variants) with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Defense Research and Development Organization, and Defense Research and Development Organization (Defense Research and Development Laboratory) (TOT) agreement is signed. The Akash missile is the first medium-range surface-to-air missile built in India capable of penetrating multiple targets at different locations. This missile can strike at a maximum altitude of 18 km at a speed of about 860 meters per second. The Akash missile was designed and developed by DRDO and manufactured by BDL. Aerial targets such as jets, drones, surface-to-air missiles can be dropped 30 kilometers into the air using the sky. This missile can also be launched from mobile platforms such as tanks and trucks.
  3. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed the inaugural session of India Global Week through video-conference. Referring to the current crisis, the Prime Minister said that India will play a leading role in the global revival. He stated that it is closely associated with two factors. The first is – Indian talent and the second – India’s ability to improve and rejuvenate.
  4. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, through video conferencing in New Delhi, introduced a new revolution in the connectivity of roads and bridges in sensitive border areas near the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.   5. The 15th summit meeting between India and the European Union will take place on 15 July. This meeting will be organized virtually.   6. The fourth edition of the Virtual Ministry on Climate Action was co-chaired by the European Union, China, and Canada. India was represented in the meeting by Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar. In the meeting, in-depth discussions were held by all countries on how to implement economic reform plans under the Paris Agreement and to ensure appropriate action against climate change. The Virtual Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action was held with the main objective of demonstrating political commitment globally against climate change. It also aimed to advance the discussion on the full implementation of the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The meeting was attended by ministers and representatives from about 30 countries,
  7. The web and mobile-based solution “BLUIS” – Bhubaneswar Land Use Intelligence System was launched on 8 July 2020 to monitor all government land in Bhubaneswar, capital of Odisha. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched BLUIS. BLUIS was launched due to a lack of adequate transparency and accountability in the current manual mode of the mechanism that has been in use for decades to detect encroachments in government land. Bhubaneswar Land Use Intelligence System is a geo-tagged repository that will monitor all government land in Bhubaneswar. This will be done using high-resolution satellite imagery. With the launch of BLUIS to protect government lands from encroachment by landowners, Odisha has become the first state in the country to use satellite technology and artificial intelligence.
  8. The US International Development Agency (USAID) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) have announced new partnerships in the field of clean energy development. USAID (US Agency for International Development) said in a statement that the US and India will increase cooperation in the field of clean energy development. Under this, the US agency and MNRE announced a partnership between the USAID-backed ‘South Asia Group for Energy’ (SAGE) and the National Technical Institutes of MNRE. Under this partnership, SAGE will provide state-of-the-art technical knowledge related to the National Laboratories of the US Department of Energy for clean energy development to the National Technical Institutes of MNRE and other public institutions.

Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that Ayurvedic doctors and researchers in India and the US are planning to start a joint clinical trial of Ayurvedic medicines to prevent the coronavirus. In a digital dialogue with a group of eminent Indian-American scientists, scholars, and doctors, the Indian diplomat said that the extensive network of institutional participation has brought together the scientific communities of the two countries in the fight against Corona.
  18. The Himalayan Golden Birdwing Butterfly has been crowned India’s largest butterfly after 88 years. The 194 mm winged female Golden Birdwing Butterfly was found in Didihat town of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, while the 106 mm winged female Golden Birdwing Butterfly is present at the Wankhar Butterfly Museum in Shillong. New measurements of its and other 24 species of butterflies were published in the latest issue of BioNotes, a quarterly newspaper for research on life forms. The authors of the study are Peter Smetsek of the Butterfly Research Center in Bhimtal, Uttarakhand, and Sristi Panti of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yunnan University.
  19. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved for the development of Cheap Residential Complex (ARHCs). These affordable rental housing complexes will be developed as a sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) for urban migrants / poor. The Affordable Rental Residential Complex (ARHCs) as a sub-scheme under PMAY-U was announced by the Union Finance Minister on May 14, 2020, as a part of the Self-Reliant India Package.
  20. Ultratech Nathdwara Cement Subsidiary (formerly known as Binani Cement) – Krishna Holdings will sell its entire equity stake of 92.5% stake in Shandong Binani Rogan Cement of China. The 92.5 percent stake will be sold for around the US $ 120 million. Ultratech Nathdwara Cement is a subsidiary of Mumbai-based UltraTech Cement Limited.
  21. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has announced a $ 50 million loan to L&T Infrastructure Finance Limited. The amount is the first installment of a $ 100 million loan agreement to L&T Infrastructure Finance Limited to finance renewable energy projects in the country.
