  1. The Supreme Court has appointed retired “Judge CN Ramachandran Nair” of the High Court of Kerala to prepare a list of jewelry and valuation reports at the Sabarimala temple. The Supreme Court has also allowed the former judge to enlist the help of the jeweler to properly evaluate the sacred jewelry. They have also been advised to submit the report in sealed envelopes. The Sabarimala temple is located in Sabarimala within the Periyar Tiger Reserve of the “Pathanamthitta district” of Kerala in India. Sabarimala Sri Dharma Sansthan Temple is the temple of Lord “Ayyappa”. This temple is the most famous and prominent among all the Siddha temples in Kerala.
  2. Uttarakhand’s most famous tourist destination will be the country’s first glass floor bridge over the Ganges River in Rishikesh. The bridge of this bridge, which will be made equal to the Lakshman Jhula, will be of strong transparent glass. Laxman Jhula, which has been the hallmark of Rishikesh for 94 years, was closed in July last year due to security reasons. After this, the Uttarakhand government has approved the design of this bridge.
  3. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (YS Jagan Mohan Reddy) launched the ‘Disha’ Women’s Police Station. For the first time in the country, Disha Police Station has been set up at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh for the safety of women. Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government passed the Disha Act 2019 resolution and sent it to the President. Disha Police Station will operate for 24 hours. A total of 18 Disha police stations will be set up in the state. Apart from this, the control room will be activated for 24 hours.   4. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has decided to install drones in the state for mapping the villages. The Department of Revenue of the state of Madhya Pradesh has tied up with the Survey of India under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Survey of India is the National Mapping Agency of India. The drone will be used for mapping 55,000 villages in the state on a scale of 1: 500. This type of mapping is expected to give a clear picture of populated areas. This land survey work in the state was earlier done with the help of satellite images.
  5. JSR Dynamics, an Indian private firm, has showcased an indigenous missile called ‘Khagantak’ in DefExpo, the missile can hit the ground from the air. The range of this missile is 180 km. The missile can be used as a guided weapon, using artificial intelligence to identify its target. Such missiles will boost the ‘Make in India’ program and reduce India’s dependence on foreign defense equipment manufacturers.
  6. The Indian Army has developed the world’s first bulletproof helmet, which even the AK-47 bullet fired from a distance of 10 meters cannot distinguish. The ballistic helmet is developed by Major “Anoop Mishra” of the Indian Army. The helmet is manufactured under the Indian Army’s project “Abhay”. Major Anoop Mishra has also developed a full-body protection bulletproof jacket, which can withstand sniper rifles. Also, the Indian Army’s College of Military Engineering, in partnership with a private firm, has developed India’s first and world’s cheapest “gunshot locator”, along with a bulletproof helmet, to identify the exact location of the bullet from a distance of 400 meters. The United States has announced the launch of the International Religious Freedom Alliance of 27 Nations, an alliance that will seek to adopt a collective approach in protecting and preserving religious freedom worldwide. Major countries joining this alliance are Australia, Brazil, United Kingdom, Israel, Ukraine, Netherlands, and Greece.
  8. Renowned Odia and English-language writer Manoj Das will be honored with the prestigious ‘Mystic Kalinga Literary Award’ (Indian and Global Language). The award will be presented to the 85-year-old Das during the Literature-Cultural Festival held in Bhubaneswar from February 8.
  9. The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented the International Gandhi Awards for Leprosy to Dr. NS Dharmashaktu under the Indian nomination Individual category and The Leprosy Mission Trust under the Institutional category in New Delhi.
  10. The Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, and Flood Control Department has been renamed as the ‘Jal Shakti Department’ by the Jammu and Kashmir administration. This work was carried out by Lt Gen GC Taken by the Administrative Council headed by Murmu. The Administrative Council has approved the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, under which all houses in Jammu and Kashmir will be provided with drinking water through pipes by December 2021. Mission Directorate will be established for the implementation of this scheme. In the initial phase of this scheme, by June 2020, 100% of drinking water will be supplied by pipes in seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
  11. Nepal’s largest India-supported project, the “Arun-3” hydropower project being built on the Arun River in Nepal’s Sankhuwasabha district, fetched 100 billion Nepalese for a 900 MW hydroelectric project. Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Arun-3 Power Development Company of India, the developer of the “Arun-3” hydropower project, has signed the financial closure of the project with 7 banks in Kathmandu, Nepal.
  12. The much-awaited railway line between Agartala to Akhaura (Bangladesh) will be completed by September 2021. The process of acquiring land for the railway line and handing it over to the executive body has been completed in both countries. This rail line will be 15.6 km long. Its 10.6 km stretch will be from Gangasagar (Bangladesh) to Nischintapur (India) and 5.46 km from Nischintapur to Agartala railway station.
  13. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of Great Britain announced that it had appointed Philip Robert Barton KCMG OBE (Knight Commander Order of the British Empire) as its new High Commissioner to Great Britain in India, Sir Dominar Anthony Gerard Esquith KCMG will take over and take over in the spring.
  14. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has decided to raise the minimum net criteria for those managing pension funds.   15. The National Payments Corporation of India has approved the instant messaging platform WhatsApp to extend Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services to its 10 million users. WhatsApp Pay is the payment feature of WhatsApp, which is designed to work on Unified Payment Interface (UPI). The UPI is developed by the National Payments Corporation of India. This feature enables users to conduct business transactions or pay others directly through their bank accounts.
  16. The Health Commission of China announced the new name of coronavirus at a press conference. It will now be known as Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP). As long as no permanent name is given to it, it (NCP) should be adopted by government departments and organizations in China. So far 722 people have died in China. At the same time, 1–1 youth have been killed in the Philippines and Hong Kong.
  17. For the first time in the country, the Anaconda freight train with 177 wagons connecting three freight trains with electric locomotive completed 220 km in 7 hours. The length of this freight train was two kilometers. The operations division of Raipur division of South East Central Railway, running first in railway haulage, operated on 6 February by connecting three freight trains with three electric locomotives. There were 59 wagons in each freight train.
  18. Indian Railways has installed a Vista coach on the train to make the journey between Visakhapatnam and Araku memorable. The roof and windows of this coach are made of large transparent glass so that one will be able to travel there because of the beautiful views of nature. The distance between Visakhapatnam to Araku Valley mountain station is 128 kilometers. An expenditure of Rs 3.38 crore has been incurred to manufacture this coach, prepared at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai. The Himachal Darshan Express (52459/52460) carrying the Vistaadom coach is being operated on the Kalka-Shimla route from December. This train has seven coaches.
  19. Bangladesh has announced that it will now conduct coronavirus-related screening of all travelers arriving in the country. Earlier this investigation was being done only on travelers coming from China.

  23. Noted film historian and cricket journalist Raju Bharatan passed away. He was 86 years old. Raju was associated with Bharatan weekly magazine ‘The Illustrated Weekly of India’ for almost 42 years. Raju Bharatan, who has worked with veteran journalists like Khushwant Singh, MV Kamat, Pritish Nandy, and Anil Dharkar, retired from the post of Assistant Editor. He also directed the documentary ‘The Victory Story’ made in 1974 on cricket.
