  1. In honor of former Air Force Chief BS Dhanoa, ‘BS’ will be written on the tail of the fighter aircraft Rafael. Whereas, to honor the current Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria, ‘RK’ will be written on the tail of two-seater trainer Rafael aircraft. The tail series number of fighter aircraft is determined by the operations wing of the Indian Air Force. Tail series with different alphabets are fixed for all types of fighter jet fleets. The alphabet is first written on the tail series number, followed by the number.
  2. A human library will be organized in Mysore, Karnataka. The human library is a concept in which the requisite information can be taken directly from humans, the largest source of knowledge in place of books. The founder of the Mysore Chapter of the Human Library, Ms. K.K. Pavitra said that this will remove the bias associated with the library and social interaction can be established by direct interaction with experts in place of books. The Human Library was started in the year 2000 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The Human Library Organization is currently operating in more than 85 countries. It is a registered international non-profit organization. It is served in several cities in India including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.
  3. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the ambitious Integrated Command and Control Center – ICCC in Gurugram. This center has been developed as a major center for providing a variety of online smart services to the general public. This center is designed to provide online data of all the smart city-related systems in one place. These include CCTV-based public safety and better traffic management systems, smart parking systems, water supply management systems, pollution monitoring, property tax management systems and online data on property management systems. This integrated center has been built at a cost of Rs. 38 crores.
  4. President Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation stone of a memorial to commemorate 200 years of the Paika Rebellion in Odisha. The Paika rebellion against the British rule in 1817 is often considered as the first freedom struggle. The proposed memorial will be built on the Brunei hill in Khurda district. This will be a symbol of valor and inspiration for the youth of Oriya people. The memorial will be constructed on ten acres of land.
  5. National Thermal Power Corporation Limited has signed a loan agreement with the State Bank of India for Rs 5,000 crore. The loan facility is extended at the interest rate associated with the bank’s 3-month MCLR and has a door-to-door tenure of 15 years. The loan will be used to finance NTPC’s capital expenditure.
  6. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal issued a card for public buses and metro rides. This card will work in both metro and bus. Delhi is the first city in the country to use a common mobility card. It can be used in Metro trains in addition to two hundred DTC and 50 cluster buses plying on different routes at this time. From 1 April, this card can be used in all DTC and cluster buses which acts like a debit card. The city currently has about 3,900 DTCs and 1600 cluster buses.
  7. British marketing research company Euromonitor International has released the list of the world’s 100 selected tourist destinations of 2019. The top 5 destinations are Hong Kong, Bangkok, London, Macau and Singapore. But the top 20 include two cities in India. Delhi is 11th and Mumbai is 14th. Significantly, compared to 2018, the number of foreign tourists has increased in both these cities in 2019. Agra is said to be the third-largest tourist destination after Delhi and Mumbai. However, it is at the 26th position and in 2018 it reached 8 million tourists from all over the world. Asia continues to dominate the top 100 with 43 tourist destinations. This is followed by Tourist Destination in Europe, America and Africa.
  8. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) is going to take big steps to compensate for the losses due to natural disasters. For this, IRDA is preparing to launch a government-funded insurance cover (CAT). IRDA has written a letter to the government for its approval. After getting the approval, IRDA will launch the CAT project in states where there is a high risk of damage from natural disasters like fence or earthquake.

  22. The government has proposed a grant of Rs 33.30 crore for ISRO’s ‘Project Eye’, which protects Indian satellites in space from debris and other hazards.
