  1. Union Minister Jitendra Singh launched the ‘Covid Beep’ app, the first indigenous monitoring system of wireless physiological parameters for corona virus-infected patients, and said awareness is needed to tackle this global epidemic, not panic.   2. The Ministry of Culture has permitted to open 820 historical monuments protected by the Archaeological Survey of India from 8 June. Three thousand 691 monuments and archaeological sites in the country are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. These monuments and sites were closed from 17 March.
  3. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made special identification mandatory for Bharat Stage (BS) -6 four-wheeler vehicles. This new rule will come into effect from 1 October 2020. According to the statement issued by the ministry, a green strip will be placed above the registration details or number plate of BS-6 four-wheeler. This will easily identify these vehicles. This new rule will apply to all types of four-wheelers of petrol, CNG and diesel. All BS-6 four-wheelers will be fitted with a 1 cm wide strip on the number plate. A sticker will also be placed on this green strip to suit the fuel of the vehicle. Petrol and CNG vehicles will have a blue sticker. There will be orange color stickers on diesel vehicles.
  4. Famous lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar have been honored with the prestigious Richard Dawkins Award. He was given this award for his deep thinking, secularism, and contribution to the development of human and human values. He is the first Indian to receive this award.
