  1. 24-hour fund transfer through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) will start from December 16. This facility will also be available on holiday. RBI directed the banks to make necessary preparations. The NEFT facility now remains from 8 am to 7 pm. On the first and third Saturdays of the month, it lasts from 8 am to 1 pm. To promote digital transactions, RBI had said in August that the 24-hour NEFT facility would start from December but did not specify the date.
  2. The Organization of Petroleum Producing Exporting Countries – OPEC and allied countries including Russia have decided to cut oil production by half a million barrels per day. It was agreed to reduce production in Vienna to reduce the pressure on prices due to abundant oil reserves and slow global economic growth. According to the statement, the petroleum ministers gathered at the OPEC headquarters decided to cut an additional five lakh barrels per day from January 1, 2020. This will reduce oil production to 1.7 million barrels below the October 2018 level.   3. Indian Railways has provided a free Wi-Fi facility at 5000 stations of the country.   5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a conference of Director General of Police – DGP and Inspector General of Police – IGP of all states in Pune. The festival was a resounding success and over 15 days, more than 500 tribal artisans took part in a turnover of Rs 20 crore.

The Forest Department has engaged 50 specially trained front line employees to handle the conflict situations with over 100 employees to be trained in the coming times. Anti-harassment squads will be equipped with all the tools necessary to reduce conflict. The squad will have a 12 bore pump action gun and rubber bullet ammunition.

India’s young shooter Elavenil Valarivan has been awarded the Golden Target Award by the International Shooting Federation for her outstanding performance in the 10-meter air rifle women’s event in the year 2019. Valarivan won two gold medals at the World Cup in the 2019 season and became the world’s number one shooter. He won gold medals at the World Cup Finals in China and the World Cup in Rio. She missed the podium at the Munich World Cup by a slight margin and was placed fourth.
