  1. To test the ability of students to innovate, the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Human Resources and the All India Council for Technical Education has launched a mega online challenge “Samadhan” in collaboration with Forge and InnovationCourses. The students participating in this challenge will search for such measures that can be made available to the government agencies, health services, hospitals and other services for quick solutions to untimely challenges. Apart from this, through this “Samadhan” challenge, work will be done to make citizens aware, to motivate them to face any challenge, to prevent any crisis and to help people get a livelihood. Applications to participate in this competition will be taken from 7 April 2020. The last date for submission of applications is 14 April 2020.
  2. The Group of Ministers met at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to assess the current situation arising out of nationwide lockdown and Kovid-19. The ministers discussed possible measures to ease the lockdown after the 14th of this month. The meeting was also assessed on the purchase and availability of medical supplies and the preparedness of hospitals. The meeting included Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, and Ram Vilas Paswan among others. Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla was also present in the meeting.
  3. IT industry body “NASSCOM” has appointed Infosys Chief Operating Officer “UB Praveen Rao” as its Chairman for 2020-21. Along with this, Rekha M. Menon, President and Senior Managing Director of Accenture in India has been named as the Vice President for 2020-21. NASSCOM is the global non-profit business organization of the Indian information technology (IT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.

Indian Railways, which has received approval from DRDO to manufacture “Personal Protective Equipment – PPE”, has now set a target of around 1000 constructions every day in its 17 workshops. “PPE” will provide much-needed protection to railway doctors and paramedics working on the frontline of coronavirus (COVID-19) care in railway hospitals overall.
