India has given a loan of US $ 1.8 million to the Government of the Maldives for expansion of fisheries facilities at Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company – MiFCO. In this project, this amount will be used for the collection and storage of fish and setting up plants for cooking tuna and preparing the fish feed. This loan is a part of the Government of India loan of 800 million US dollars.
The death toll in the Lebanese capital Beirut has reached one hundred. More than four thousand people have been injured. The explosion occurred due to 2400 tonnes of ammonium nitrate kept unsafe in the warehouse. The explosion was so strong that its shock was felt all over Beirut. As a result, many houses were demolished and windows of the windows were broken. The sound of the blast was also heard on the island of Cyprus, 240 km from Beirut.
Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir GC Murmu has resigned from his post. Murmu has sent his resignation to President Ramnath Kovind. The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has chosen Infosys Finacle to digitally transform its transaction banking business. NBB will implement the Finacle liquidity management platform and upgrade its existing Finacle corporate online banking platform to a full-fledged digital engagement suite with the latest versions of Finacle corporate online and mobile banking solutions and with Finacle Digital Engagement Hub.
To avoid an epidemic in the Corona era, a state-of-the-art thermal scanner will be installed at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), which will allow large-scale corona infections to be investigated. The scanner has been co-ordinated with the Asian Development Bank by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and provided it to the airport. Funds for this were funded by UNICEF.
The e-Gyan Mitra mobile app has been launched by the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The “e-Gyan Mitra” mobile app has been launched to provide online education.
Private sector lender Axis Bank has launched an automatic voice assistant “AXAA”. “AXAA” is an Artificial Intelligence Powered Conversational Voice BOT. The automated voice assistant will act as a humanoid and can change the customer experience paradigm from traditional interactive voice response (IVR) systems. “AXAA” An Artificial Intelligence Powered Conversational Voice BOT can communicate in English, Hindi, and Hinglish. It can respond to a million customer queries and requests per day. Therefore, it will improve the customer experience by enabling a deeper understanding of their questions, context, and call intent.
The book titled Vishesh: Code to Win is written by sportswoman writer Nirupama Yadav and is being published by house Bluerose Publications. The book will be launched on August 29, National Sports Day. The book is an inspirational story based on the life of India’s youngest basketball team captain, Vishwesh Bhriguvanshi. This book narrates the mindset of a basketball player in a cricket-dominated nation and highlights the tough journey of 29-year-old Bhriguvanshi, who has to face all odds. Bhriguvanshi hails from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and has been playing for India since 2007. He first became the captain of the Indian team in 2010. The book aims to encourage the sports industry to focus more on other sports in India like cricket so that players can get their proper recognition.
Fluorosis is a serious disease that arises from the accumulation of fluorides in the hard and soft tissues of the body due to prolonged intake of fluoride through drinking water/food products / industrial pollution. This results in dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, and non-skeletal fluorosis. Easy identification of fluoride in water can help prevent public health hazards. Scientists at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, have developed a device to detect an instrument-free fluoride ion in drinking water. It has been developed for home use to protect against fluorosis-based disorders with no specialist needed.
The Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the MyGov Goa portal on August 4, 2020, in an online program. Goa launched the MyGov Citizen Participation Forum to enable participatory administration. MyGov (myGov.in) is a platform for citizen engagement and crowdsourcing of the Government of India. It aims to promote the active participation of citizens in governance and policymaking. Since its launch on 26 July 2014, MyGov has adopted various methods of discussion, work, innovation challenges, referendums, surveys, blogs, talks, quizzes, etc. using the Internet, mobile apps, IVRS, SMS, and outbound dialing. The number of people using MyGov has gone up to more than 1.25 crore and millions of citizens on MyGov’s social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter are linked. 12 states have already launched their MyGov platform. These states are Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
The International Financial Services Center Authority (IFSCA) announced the establishment of an expert committee headed by Pradeep Shah, Chairman of Indasia Fund Advisors Pvt Ltd, to suggest ways to grow international retail businesses in International Financial Services Centers (IFSC).
The Government of West Bengal has planned to provide 100 percent pipe water to all the houses of the state by the year 2024 under the Water Life Mission. Out of one crore 63 lakh rural houses, two lakh 19 thousand houses were provided with water from pipes. The state government is planning to provide piped water to 55 lakh 60 thousand houses by 2020-21.

On 17 July 2019, the ICJ rejected India’s appeal for Jadhav’s release and ordered Pakistan to suspend the execution. The court further ordered Pakistan to give Jadhav consular access.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congressman Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar passed away. The doctor has attributed the cause of his death to kidney failure. He was suffering from several co-morbidities including diabetes and hypertension, and was found infected with Navel Coronavirus in Pune, admitted to a private hospital. Hailing from Nilanga town in Latur district, Mr. Patil Nilangekar was a powerful cooperative leader of the Marathwada region. He was highly active in the field of education.
American computer engineer – William Kirk English, co-inventor of the world’s first computer mouse, passed away. The original mouse, made by Bill English in the mid-60s, had only a pinewood block, a crude button, and a connector. In 1964, William was the first person to co-develop the mouse with Douglas Engelbert at the Stanford Research Institute and was named “the best of all demos” in 1968.
Former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Ram Pradhan passed away. The senior IAS officer as the trustee of the YB Chavan Foundation in Mumbai as well as led a two-member committee set up in December 2008 to investigate the security forces’ response to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Ram Pradhan played a key role in signing the Assam Accord and the Mizoram Peace Accord. He also served as the Union Home Secretary in the Rajiv Gandhi government. He was also awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor in 1987.
The Central Government issued a notification asking the Central Bureau of Investigation-CBI to investigate the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also demanded a CBI inquiry. Earlier, the Center told the Supreme Court that it had accepted the Bihar government’s demand for a CBI probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on 14 June at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
