The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released data on suicides across the country in the year 2019. According to them, a total of 1,39,123 people committed suicide in India in 2019. NCRB figures show that in the year 2019, the suicide rate in cities has been 13.9%, which was more than the 10.4% suicide rate across India.
