  2. Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari released a portal related to the Bank’s plans, innovation, and research for small scale industries. All the schemes of the Central Government, State Governments and Central Governments are given on this portal http://ideas.msme.gov.in. Innovations and research for small industries have also been placed on it. It also facilitates capital flow and foreign business alliance.

The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports in Karnataka and the United Karnataka Chess Association will organize online chess competition to raise funds in the Chief Minister Kovid-19 Relief Fund.   11. The Government of India announced that the Common Service Center will now handle village level online retail chains. The move is expected to reach more than 600 million people in rural areas. Common service centers have to handle the e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon in rural areas. This initiative is being promoted by the Government of India. Village-level online retail chains are being built to overcome the difficulties posed by restrictions on transport. The Government of India plans to provide the necessary supplies on a large scale through this initiative. These outlets will be set up and run by private individuals. However, they will be directly monitored by the Ministry of Electronics and IT.   12. Former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar has been appointed as the new chairman of the Public Enterprises Selection Board-PESB for a 3-year term. He is a 1984 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre. His appointment has been made after approval by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will replace Kapil Dev Tripathi who has recently taken over as Secretary to President Ram Nath Kovind.
  13. According to CRISIL Research report, Karnataka retained its first position in terms of total installed renewable capacity in FY 2019-20, followed by Tamil Nadu (second) and Gujarat (third).   17. IIT-Roorkee professor Kamal Jain has claimed to have developed a software that can detect Covid-19 within five seconds by scanning an X-ray of the suspected patient. The software took more than 40 days to develop. The professor has filed a patent for this and has approached the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for review.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a loan of US $ 346 million (approximately Rs 2,616 crore) to the Maharashtra State Government for providing reliable electricity connections in rural areas of Maharashtra. The loan will support the State Government’s High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) program for new grid-connected rural agricultural consumers in Maharashtra.

He worked with the Karnataka team for many years and also served as the batting coach of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.   20. Deepak Aggarwal has been banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for participating in any cricket-related activities for 2 years. The ban has been imposed on him by the ICC after he admitted to violating the ICC Anti Corruption Code. Now Deepak will be free to continue his participation in cricket-related activities after 27 October 2021. Deepak Aggarwal was one of the team owners of the Sindhi franchise in the 2018 T10 Cricket League.
