According to the India Corruption Survey 2019, 78% and 75% of the people of Rajasthan and Bihar, respectively, have accepted the bribe, while Telangana has secured the first position in South India. The survey was conducted between October 2018 and November 2019 by a social media firm called ‘Local Circle’ and Transparency International India. In this, more than 81,000 people from 248 districts of 20 states of India gave their opinion. Rajasthan has secured the first position in the list of most corrupt states, with 78% of those surveyed accepting bribes. Bihar ranks second in the list of the most corrupt states, with 75% of those surveyed accepting bribes. Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand have jointly ranked third in this list, 74% of the people of both states have accepted the bribe. Telangana is in fifth place in this list, 67% of the people of Telangana have accepted the bribe. Punjab and Karnataka have been ranked sixth in this list, with 63% of Punjab and Karnataka citizens accepting bribes. According to this survey, Kerala, Goa, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Haryana, and Delhi are the least corrupt states in the country.
Malayalam poet “Akkitam Achuthan Namboodari” has won the 55th Jnanpith Award. “Akkitam Achuthan Namboodari” was born on 18 March 1926 in Palakkad, he is known as Akkitam. Akkitam has written more than 55 books so far. Some of his major compositions are Khand Kavya, Katha Kavya, Charit Kavya, etc. He has been awarded Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, Odakuzhal Award, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, Asan Award, Lalitambika Sahitya Award, Ezhuthachan Award, Padma Shri. The United Nations Development Program has launched the Accelerator Lab in New Delhi. It aims to work on the most important issues in India, including air pollution. In this lab, solutions will be found through innovation. To fulfill this objective, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has partnered with the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog. The main objective of setting up this lab is to meet the sustainable development goals of the United Nations by 2030.
HR Khan, a former deputy governor of the RBI, has been appointed as the first chairman of the steering committee of the Code for Responsible Lending (CRL) in micro-credit. The CRL is a self-regulatory move for the micro-credit industry creating diverse entities such as banks, NBFC-MFI and NBFC that follow the standards of customer safety. The CRL was launched in September by MFIN and Sa-Dhan along with the Union of Finance Industry Development Council, NBFC, an association recognized by RBI.

Suriname President “Desai Booters” has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in a 37-year-old case. Paramaribo’s court has found Booters guilty of shooting 15 people, including lawyers, journalists, and opposition union leaders, in 1982. He is currently on an official visit to China. Booters has two weeks to appeal against the sentence.
China has built a nuclear reactor based on the sun’s energy. The reactor HL-2M is built in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. It is being told that the reactor will start functioning in 2020. Through this, China wants to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels i.e. petrol-coal-diesel. Nuclear fusion takes place in the Sun. In this process, two atoms of hydrogen combine to form helium. By creating fusion-based reactors, China wants to give a clear message that the supply of non-polluting energy will never be interrupted.
Israeli researchers have developed a bacterium ‘e-coli’ that survives solely by consuming carbon dioxide. On Wednesday, the Weizman Institute of Science, based in Central Israel, reported in its report that this bacterium produces its body’s biomass from the carbon present in the atmosphere. Researchers say that this technology will not only reduce the increasing side effects of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere but will also help in fighting serious problems like global warming.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1.50 crore on Corporation Bank for non-compliance with certain provisions of the directives issued by the RBI. Penalties have been imposed in the exercise of the powers vested in the RBI under the provisions of Section 47A (1) (C) read with Section 46 (4) (i) and 51 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. This action is based on deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to spell out the validity of any transaction or agreement made by the bank with its customers.

The central government has extended the date of making the fastag mandatory for toll payment on national highways till 15 December. Earlier, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had announced the acceptance of toll payment on the highways by Fastag from December 1. It has now been decided that a double fee will be charged if there is no fastag from December 15 this year. The Ministry has also said that Fastag will be made available free of charge by 15 December.
Till November this year, a total of 1,693-gram panchayats in the country have been identified as MP Adarsh Gram Panchayat. A phased scheme of MP Adarsh Gram Panchayat was launched on 11 October 2014 in different parts of the country. It aims to enhance the leadership capacity and commitment of MPs. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that it aims to create awareness among the villagers about moral values and present them as a role model for others. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held the first India-Japan Two Plus to Foreign and Defense Ministerial talks with Japanese Defense Minister Kono Taro and Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in New Delhi. In a joint statement after the talks, the ministers said that this dialogue will boost the strategy of bilateral security and defense cooperation between the two countries. He strongly condemned the growing threat of terrorism and said that it posed a major threat to the peace and security of the region.
