According to the India Corruption Survey 2019, 78% and 75% of the people of Rajasthan and Bihar, respectively, have accepted the bribe, while Telangana has secured the first position in South India. The survey was conducted between October 2018 and November 2019 by a social media firm called ‘Local Circle’ and Transparency International India. In this, more than 81,000 people from 248 districts of 20 states of India gave their opinion. Rajasthan has secured the first position in the list of most corrupt states, with 78% of those surveyed accepting bribes. Bihar ranks second in the list of the most corrupt states, with 75% of those surveyed accepting bribes. Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand have jointly ranked third in this list, 74% of the people of both states have accepted the bribe. Telangana is in fifth place in this list, 67% of the people of Telangana have accepted the bribe. Punjab and Karnataka have been ranked sixth in this list, with 63% of Punjab and Karnataka citizens accepting bribes. According to this survey, Kerala, Goa, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Haryana, and Delhi are the least corrupt states in the country.

  4. The United Nations Development Program has launched the Accelerator Lab in New Delhi. It aims to work on the most important issues in India, including air pollution. In this lab, solutions will be found through innovation. To fulfill this objective, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has partnered with the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog. The main objective of setting up this lab is to meet the sustainable development goals of the United Nations by 2030.
  5. HR Khan, a former deputy governor of the RBI, has been appointed as the first chairman of the steering committee of the Code for Responsible Lending (CRL) in micro-credit. The CRL is a self-regulatory move for the micro-credit industry creating diverse entities such as banks, NBFC-MFI and NBFC that follow the standards of customer safety. The CRL was launched in September by MFIN and Sa-Dhan along with the Union of Finance Industry Development Council, NBFC, an association recognized by RBI.

  17. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1.50 crore on Corporation Bank for non-compliance with certain provisions of the directives issued by the RBI. Penalties have been imposed in the exercise of the powers vested in the RBI under the provisions of Section 47A (1) (C) read with Section 46 (4) (i) and 51 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
