  1. On March 31, 2020, the extraordinary G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Virtual Meet was held via video conferencing. India was represented by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in this meeting. India called for easy movement of health professionals and increased access to affordable medicines across national boundaries. Amidst the threat of COVID-19, India is supplying cheap medical products to about 190 countries of the world. India has urged the G-20 countries to create a G-20 Global Framework to improve access to medicines.
  2. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has designed emergency evacuation bags to carry or isolate persons infected with COVID-19 in the event of a disaster. This bag is water and air-proof and is used to treat biological agents. DRDO will initially manufacture 500 such bags in total. The bags have been developed by DRDO’s Defense Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), a research unit on Aero-Medical Engineering and Life Support Equipment and Nuclear Chemical and Biological (NBC) Protection Systems.
  3. The Rajasthan Police has launched a mobile app “RajCop citizens App” to allow individuals and company employees in the state to be evacuated under necessary circumstances. This app will help law-abiding citizens move out of their homes in case of emergency or essential services during the lockdown.
  4. A team from IIT Bombay has developed a mobile app called ‘QUARANTINE’. ‘QUARANTINE’ The app has been developed by the authorities to keep an eye on the infected people and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. With the help of this app, quarantine patients can be tracked. Through this app, patients who run away from quarantine can be tracked and tracked. An alert message and e-mail will be sent to the officer monitoring him as soon as the patient runs away from the quarantine. Which will let the officer know that the patient has run away from the quarantine.
  5. Apple has launched a new dedicated app and website for its users in the US. This application provides users with accurate and reliable information about the COVID-19 epidemic. These new COVID-19 apps and websites provide the necessary guidelines and the latest information released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  6. The Ministry of Tourism launched a portal “Stranded in India” to assist foreign tourists. Tourists can use this portal to get information about the steps or measures being taken by the Government of India and foreign government to take them home safely. This portal is also the contact details through which stranded tourists can contact the Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry of Tourism will help them to contact the concerned authorities. This website is also the contact details of the list of officers who have been appointed to help the stranded tourists. Each officer has been given charge of one country. Currently, this service is available in the United States, Spain, Italy, Japan, Russia, Has been extended to tourists from China and Latin America. Gradually this service will also be extended to other countries.
  7. The winners of “The Hindu Prize 2019” are “Mirza Waheed” to “Tell Her Everything-Fiction” and “Santanu Das” to “Empire, and First World War Culture: Writings, Images and Songs – Non-Fiction”. The winners of both categories were selected by a distinguished panel of judges.
  8. In the battle of COVID-19, a new technology is being adopted in hospitals in Maharashtra. This technology has been developed by a Pune-based start-up. This product developed by the startup is “Negative Ion Generator”. It is named “Scitech Airon”. It helps in controlling bacterial, virus and fungal infections. This product disinfects areas that were exposed to infection. It is very useful for quarantine facilities. The Department of Science and Technology has released Rs 1 crore for the manufacture of this product on a large scale. The “Scitech Airon” machine produces negatively charged ions. These ions form flakes around viruses, bacteria. They then inactivate them through chemical reactions by forming hydroxyl radical (OH) groups.
  9. Andhra Pradesh government has introduced mobile hand-wash facilities for people living in slums during lockdown. This facility has been introduced to protect them from COVID-19. This has made the mobile hand wash facility of washing hands quite easy for both state officials and slum dwellers. Coronavirus avoidance, prevention, and cleaning are the only ways hand washes have been initiated by local NGOs with the help of some NGOs. It consists of a water tanker fitted to a vehicle, which had four tap connections and 4 washbasins. It also has two soap dispensers.
  10. According to the latest report of “S&P Global Ratings”, India’s GDP growth rate will be 3.5% in FY 2020-21, first India’s growth rate 5. It was estimated to remain at 2%. Tata Power’s Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC, a joint venture between Norway’s Clean Energy Investment (CEI) and International Financial Corporation (IFC), commenced commercial operations of the 178 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Project located in southwest Georgia has announced. The project will generate around 450 GW of clean energy to reduce emissions of more than 200,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year. The electricity generated by this project will be sold in Georgia, especially in winter, when energy consumption is low.
  12. As part of efforts to tackle the Kovid-19 epidemic, the Railways is ready to amend twenty thousand coaches, which will be able to be used as isolation coaches if required. These will have more than three lakh beds. According to the Railway Ministry, isolation coaches are being prepared for Kovid-19 patients. These will have all the necessary facilities. For this, extensive consultation has been done with Armed Forces Medical Services, Medical Departments of various zonal railways and Ayushman Bharat Department of Health Ministry. The work of amending five thousand coaches has been started, these will have 80 thousand beds.
  13. All National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) are being prepared by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) as isolation centers to fight Novel Coronaviruses (COVID-19). The move has been taken by MSDE to support the 3-week nationwide lockdown efforts put in place by the central government to end social distancing against the epidemic.
  14. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has launched the company Fresh Start Scheme, 2020. This new scheme has been launched to provide relief to law-abiding companies and limited liability partnerships (LLP) during the COVID-19 epidemic. Also, MCA has revised the “LLP Settlement Plan, 2020”. The recently introduced scheme and revised LLP settlement scheme stimulates compliance and reduces the compliance burden during the unique public health situation generated by COVID-19. Both these schemes will also provide corporates with longer timelines to comply with various filing requirements under the Companies Act 2013 and LLP Act, 2008.

  17. Japanese comedian “Ken Shimura” died due to coronavirus. He gained popularity in acting with his first feature film “God of Cinema” directed by “Yomi Yamada”. Ken Shimura grew up in Higashimurayama, West Tokyo, and began his career when he joined the “Japanese Rock Band” and “Comedy Group The Drifters”, which he received for the Beatles during his early days in Japan. It is famous for its inauguration.
  18. Death of Tamil folk singer and actress “Paravai Muniyamma”. He was born on 26 June 1937 in Paravai, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Muniyamma’s acting career began in the year 2003 in the film Dhul. His song Madurai Veeran became very famous. She has appeared in more than 50 films, in which she played most of the grandmother’s roles. Muniyamma was conferred the title of Kalaimamani by the Government of Tamil Nadu in March 2019.
