  1. The Indian Army is scheduled to conduct four joint military exercises in December. All these exercises will be done with the armies of Russia, China, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The Army of the two countries will conduct joint exercises in Babina, Air Force in Pune and Navy in Goa. The annual Hand in Hand shared exercise with China is taking place in India for the first time since the Doklam dispute in 2017. These annual exercises take place once in India and once in China. It was reintroduced in the past and the practice took place in China. This time, “12 Kumaon Regiment” of the Indian Army at Umroi, Meghalaya from 7 to 20 December The Chinese Army will practice with The Indian Army’s joint combat exercise with Sri Lanka is named ‘Maitri Shakti’.   2. ISRO has shifted production of its indigenous technology space-grade Li-ion cells to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). In March 2018, BHEL signed a technology transfer agreement with ISRO to acquire Li-ion cell production technology. This production facility is mainly targeted to meet the requirements of Li-ion cells for ISRO and other strategic areas. However, BHEL can also produce and sell Li-ion cells by suitably modifying space-grade cells for other national/commercial applications, leading to cost reductions. BHEL is in the process of setting up a Li-ion production facility near Bangalore, Karnataka.

After the merger, this bank will be known as Baroda UP Bank. The merger will have an impact on the accounts of the customers present in 2050 branches. The head office of the new bank formed after the merger will be in Gorakhpur. Baroda UP Bank, formed after the merger, will comprise 600 branches of Purvanchal Bank, 478 branches of Kashi Gomti Samyukta Gramin Bank and 972 branches of Baroda UP Gramin Bank. The total number will be 2050. The bank will operate in 31 districts.
